Kind of Disaster (with Indonesia translation)

FLOOD

Flood is a disaster that caused by clogged drain, water absorption that not enough,  problem in the river like the building on the river which block the water flow, trash in the river which makes the flow in the river not perfect, river silting etc. Clogged drains can caused by trash, volume of rainwater, drain construction, and water absorption that not enough is caused by lack of green areas.In the area which near with beach, flood is also caused by tide of sea water. Flood can caused many desease like diarrhea, scarlet fever, malaria, itching, vomiting, etc. Flood also caused house damage and sometimes flood make people died.

Building : bangunan

River Silting : pendangkalan sungai

Lack : kurangnya

Tide : pasang surut 

EARTHQUAKE

There are two types of earthquakes, the tectonic and volcanic earthquakes. Tectonic earthquakes is caused by movement of tectonic plates especially convergent movement. Tectonic earthquake often occur in Indonesia because Indonesia is located in two continental plates such as Asian Continent and Australian Continent. In Indonesia also often hit by volcanic earthquake because in Indonesia there are lot of volcanic mountain or active mountain. Volcanic earthquakes is caused by activity inside the volcanic mountain and volcanic explosion. If you face a earthquake my advice is, don’t be panic, run out to the outdoor area or hide under the table, avoid a building around you especially high building and pray.

Convergent movement : gerakan konvergen (gerakan dua lempeng bumi yang saling mendekat)

 

TSUNAMI 

 

Tsunami is Japanese word that mean big waves in the harbor. Tsunami is caused by earthquake under the sea like tectonic earthquake in the seabed or volcanic earthquake from the mountain in the mid-sea or under the sea. Tsunami also can caused by meteor pounding in the sea. 90% Tsunami is caused by earthquake under the sea. Vertical movement in earth’s crust caused seabed suddenly move up and move down. The sea water become unstable and caused a big waves that hit an areas near the beach. Magnitude of the wave is determined by the magnitude of the quake and the water pressure. Before Tsunami hit mainland usually there are earthquakes around the beach area and then the sea water suddenly disappear or receding. If you face this situation you must run away from the beach as far as possible and go to the high area.

FLASH FLOOD

Flash flood is flood that caused by continous rain until make high volume of water in an area. Because of the volume of water too much the land in that area can’t absorb it well, so that the water flow to the lowest area but not through the river. The water flow through all possible area like forest, houses, farm, rice field, plantation,etc with high speed. So that flash flood’s water is brown because it contain land, mud, soil, plant, etc. This disaster caused a lot of losses so you must keep a environmental balance to avoid it.
